While having been a RN for over 44 years, Laurie has been in the ASC industry for over 28 of them with the last 25 in a leadership and administrative role, running both large and small multi-specialty ASCs, including GI and Ophthalmology. Her certifications include Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR), Certified Registered Nurse First Assist (CRNFA(E)), Certified Administrator Surgery Center (CASC) and Certified Ambulatory Infection Preventionist (CAIP). She was instrumental in creating the original study guide for the first ever CAIP exam and can be found speaking at the state and national level on topics concerning infection control and ASC leadership. She served on the executive board as secretary for the New Hampshire State ASC Association (NHASC) from 2010-2016 as well as being a member of the ASCA education committee from 2009-2023. More recently she participated as a member of the AORN Infection Prevention Task Force for 2024-2025. Currently, she is a deemed-status surveyor for AAAHC, is one of three leaders of the newly created AORN Infection Prevention Specialty Assembly and is the Director of Clinical Services for a national regulatory compliance company and an infection prevention consultant and educator.
