Additional Information

Medical device Instructions for Use (IFUs) are essential for safe patient care, effective device performance, and regulatory compliance—but they can be lengthy, inconsistent, and difficult to interpret in real-time practice. This webinar is designed for perioperative nurses who want a clear, practical approach to finding, understanding, and applying IFU requirements across the perioperative setting.

Participants will learn how to quickly locate critical information within an IFU, interpret key sections (including indications, contraindications, warnings/precautions, setup and operation steps, cleaning/sterilization requirements, and troubleshooting), and translate those requirements into everyday workflows. Through real-world examples and common OR scenarios, the session will also address how to manage IFU updates, handle missing or unclear instructions, and collaborate with sterile processing, risk management, and vendor partners to support safe and consistent practice.
